If your DC can't take off pants/diapers can you still potty train?

my DD shows a lot of signs of readiness....she loves her potty chair; puts her dolls on it and says pee pee; sits on it and says pee pee, follws me to bathroom, etc.

I havn't actually started to train yet, cause is she physically ready?
If I have to help her to take off pants, is it too soon?

My DS is 19 mos - he follows me into the bathroom and says "potty". I take his diaper off (most of the time) and let him sit for a while. He says he's done - then we say "bye bye pee-pees" (so he's not afraid of flushing. He's never actually done anything on the potty yet.

BTW - DS doesn't do anything except say potty - he tries to pull off his pants.

I talked to the doc last time we were there and she said as long as i don't get frustereated w/ him, there is no reason he can't sit on the potty.

ok, thank you! She loves it, so I wondered should I take it as a sign to start. But since I am taking off her diaper, didn't know if I was pushing her if she's not ready. So far she just sits there

we did when dd couldn't get her pants on and off that easy...and she took too it very well...worst you can do is try it!
