If your DC has a milk allergy and is on soy formula

Which soy formula are they on and why?

I started DS on Similac Isomil Advanced last night. Seems to be working okay but I just wanted to know if there is anything better or a prefered brand/type. The only reason I have him on Similac is because he WAS taking Similac Alimentum and I wasnt sure if I should switch brands?

I don't have any personal experience with Soy formula, but when DD was having trouble with reflux on Similac Advanced Early Shield, we switched her to Similac Sensitve RS. So, like you, we stayed with the same brand. I think if your ped is ok with the Similac Isomil, you should stick with it. Honestly, I think all of the comparable formulas are the same anyway, Similac vs. Enfamil. HTH!

dd started on Similac advanced but the dr. thought she may have an intolerance to the milk based abd put us on Isomil. She then had shooting diarrhea (one ped claims that Similac has a certain ingredient in it that causes the diarrhea the other says thats a lie... so who knows what the turth is) So i switched her to enfamil ProSobe which is their soy formula and i LOVE IT ! dd is doing fantastic with it!
