...how do you get anything done? I want to go do stuff on the weekends and his nap conflicts with everything. And if he doesn't nap...well, let's just say it isn't pretty. I'm looking at the hours of museums and zoos and these places are all open from 10am-5pm. Well, if he sleeps from 12-3, how the heck to we ever go anywhere? Suggestions?

DD naps from 2-5 or 1-4. Depending how I can stretch it out and what we are doing.

I go out early and make sure I am home by 2 at least. It's a pain but I actually look forward to that nap to have some me time and to do what I need around the house.

DS naps from 12 to 3 p.m. during the week at daycare and on Friday when I work from home, but Saturday and Sunday, his nap schedule is thrown off depending on what we do. He's a big crank pot when he doesn't nap, but I try to get him to nap in the car or stroller when we are out. We do the best we can.

go before or after.

DD naps from 1-3 everyday and I love that schedule actually. Two naps a day were more inconvenient for me. I try to get home by noon to feed her and wind down a bit. The pool is not as hot after 3 pm so I prefer to go then. If we're going to visit someone, we always time it so we're in the car at 1 or 1:30. Her nap is usually shorter then, but at least she gets something.

Get to the zoo (or wherever) at 10 when it opens, each lunch there, drive home after and have baby sleep in the car. Try the transfer (usually doesn't work for us). As long as baby isn't sleeping in the car & getting shorter naps every single day, it should be ok. We do this all the time.

MY son only naps while we are out and about, so he will sleep in the car or the pushchair. Why not try to get out during naptime.

Same here! Julia would sleep in her carseat or stroller if we were out, I never went home for naps if I was out.

I wish he slept like that or the kid in my other post! unfortunately, he won't sleep when we're out. He loves to look at everything and is afraid he'll miss something. So falling asleep in the stroller doesn't happen. He might fall asleep the last 5 min of the car ride, but that's it. That's why his naps are important, or he's a Mr. Crankypants while he's out.
