if your dc was a LATE talker...
how old were they when they said their first word?
dc is 14 months and still nothing. my older ds was the same, early walker late talker but then exploded and has remained above average verbally. i hope ds2 will be the same but i still can't help but worry.
he has great non-verbal communication, babbles and even has some signs so i'm not too worried but i still want to hear something.

18 months was his first word, nothing again until 22 months, lots of single words by 24 months, putting 2 and 3 words together by 26 months.

Same with Rylan except his FIRST word was about 22 months. We had nothing before that...not even the usual mama...dada...baba.
I was concerned too and had him evaluated at 18 months. He didn't qualify...not really sure why. I was going to have him evaluated again at 24 months but since he started getting a few words 2 months before I didn't. I think he's still a little behind but i'm not concerned at all...he's just a late talker.
