Since it's winter, will you actually run the fan? I am asking because I see many posts regarding using a ceiling fan to help circulate the air and help protect the baby against sids.

I am due in 11 weeks and I think the nesting bug has hit me. I am freaking out. DH hasn't even finished the room yet. The furniture still needs to be delievered. Chat Icon

not due in november and not using a ceiling fan (so idk why i opened this post LOL) but if it makes you feel any better, I'm due in 5 weeks, DH hasn't finished the nursery, we haven't picked paint, and the furniture isn't even scheduled for delivery. Chat Icon

My 6 year old was born in October, and we ran the ceiling fan all through the winter. Even with the heat on, I feel like you need to do it to keep the air moving in the room. That is just me personally, I always have it running in my bedroom.

I had DS in October (although I was due in November) and used the ceiling fan all the time (on low). When DS moved into his own room at 4 months, continued using it on low. Will do the same for DD when she's born (another November due date).

I say do that chandelier you wanted to originally do. You can totally amp up the masculinity I think.

Ceiling fans can be a big dust collector that gets spewed around- just something to think about. Chat Icon

Yes, for the reason you stated above about SIDS. I did the same thing with my DD. I ran the fan on low, even in the winter.

I can't answer your ceiling fan question but, want to feel better? I'm due in less than 7 weeks. In the next 7 weeks, we're hoping to close on a house, get the floors and painting done at the new house, move and set up the baby's room. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

If I don't laugh I'll freak out! I think I'm the only pregnant person hoping I'll go a little late.

The fan in our bedroom is on every night. So yes, we will have one in our nursery as well.

We already had a fan in the room we are using for the nursery and I'm sure my DH will insist on us keeping it on when our baby moves into the room at about 3 months. He is a firm believer in keeping the air circulating whether we have the hear or central air on.

ETA: Don't stress about getting it all done. We only got the furniture last weekend and I was 32 weeks and I can't even hang anything in the closet yet because we have to finish the electric and the closet system. Our Chat Icon won't be in the room right away anyway.
