I'm a little bit concerned and wanted to see if anyone could help
So my daughter has been in preeschool since last year, she is considered a special child because she has had a speech delay since she was 2, she is behind a year in her speech and development. she is 4 now and in the mornings when she gets to school, the teachers, the social workers have noticed how she won't talk and it's like she is in her own little word, she will be very quiet, almost like in a trance.
In all honesty, i haven't seen this before with her but of course i believe what they are telling me. I'm going to schedule an appointment with a pediatric neurologist to rule anything out and see what is causing these episodes.
Has anyone experienced this with their child?
TIA

My DD is anything but quiet. Could she just be slow to warm up, or having a hard time transitioning?
I would def make the appt with the Ped Neurologist. That way they can rule out any problems.
Good Luck.

Thanks!!
That is the thing, it's only as soon as she gets to school, then through out the day she is a completely different person, happy, lively.
I will definitely make an appointment right away.

To ME it honestly sounds like she is shy and tired, lol! If its when she firsts gets to school and not the whole day I woudn't worry too much.
When I drop my son off at school I am surrounded by all types of kids..kids with special needs and kids who are typical. They ALL are different! Some kids whine and cry, some are quiet and look half asleep, and some are chatting it up first thing.
Don't worry too much..if she is lively and happy most of the time I'm sure its just an early morning thing!

I agree. If it is only the mornings she is in school, I wouldn't think there was a medical issue.

Does she sleep on the bus on her way to school? If so, she may just need some time to fully wake up. I know a lot of the kids at the preschool I work at are very sleepy when they first arrive.
How is she in the morning at home?

Re: I'm a little bit concerned and wanted to see if anyone could help
Thanks Everyone!!
I honestly don't think there is nothing wrong with her, I just think that she is tired in the morning and that is how she reacts, through out the day she is completely lively, with lots of energy.
I will take her to the neurologist just so that i rule anything out.
