I'm a little sad...

as much as I want the year to end, I always feel a little sad to see them leave. Even the PITAes!

I am so emotional on the last day of school every year. I feel sad when the building empties and they are gone

You know what? I feel the same way! This was a nice class, even though they had their moments and I will miss them...today I even found myself second guessing their first grade teachers...

sadly I won't miss my 5th graders- some of them I will but on the whole, nah. Pretty much all of the specialists let them go without us going into their classrooms to say goodbye. I went in to my friend's classroom (who teaches 5th) as a favor to her and only a handful came up to me to sign their memory books. The rest didn't even notice I was there. They turned into such mean spirited snobs. Last year's class was WAY more lovable. I see them on the street and get so excited to see them!

The little ones were cute to say goodbye too...all the hugs and stuff! Pros and cons of being a specialist- you get the same kids every year!

I don't miss the kids at all (except for one class that I absolutely loved this year)

However, tomorrow is the last day and I'm actually feeling sad about that for some strange reason! I think it's because this week was a lot of fun at work, I got to spend time with the other teachers in my dept, we'd hang out for long lunches, sit around talking, and it was just a fun, relaxing week (I really do like my school & coworkers a lot) ... I've never felt this way before about work... WEIRD!

In my 8 years of teaching, this is the first time I'm NOT sad!! I mean, I have a handful of awesome kids but the group as a whole had disappointed me on so many occasions that I just want a fresh start.

I get sad every June. Now that I've been teaching for 8 years, I know every senior class really well, so while I'm always a little sad about losing that year's classes, I'm always really sad about the graduating kids. (It didn't help this year that none of them want to leave either. I've never seen this many seniors crying on the last day of school. Weirdos. ... except that they made me cry, too. )

shhhhhh..I actually cried this year after 5 years of teaching. There are two little girls (Kindergarten) that I had for the second year in a row. They are so beautiful and have wonderful parents. I was so sad to leave them (and some of the others)!

NOT ME!!!!

I had a great class this year, but by the end they were really testing my patience. I stood at the door when the bell rang and gave them a big wave a a big "SEE YA!!!!!!!"

I usually feel a little sad BUT this year I was good and ready to say bye and get out of there. I am pregnant and due in Sept. so I have so many other things on my mind and it was getting so uncomfortable being in school that I was ready for it to be done and although I really liked my class this year I felt nothing but relief when the last bell rang.
