I'm an idiot!! PSA Car Keys
Chelsea grabbed my keys off the table and I didn't think anything of it. Fast forward a half hour later and suddenly I smell something  Kinda like gas or exhaust.... Not sure where it is coming from. Walk by the garage door and I HEAR THE CAR ON!  Yes she started my car with the automatic start so it has been running in my CLOSED garage for at least a 1/2 hour.
This could have had a really bad ending!
Note to everyone......don't let your child play with your keys.

I'm surprised it stayed on. My car shuts off after 8 minutes.
So scary though.

My autostart shuts off after 10 minutes. Good thing you noticed!
One day Ryan threw my keys in the garbage. Thank goodness I watched him do it. Or I would have really been screwed when I went to leave the next morning since DH took the garbage out that night.

I wonder why mine didn't shut off???? My old car shut off too.

Thank God my autostart shuts off after 20 minutes
BUT I have gone outside to find all my windows downs. Ever since then I keep my keys out of reach!

DS is constantly turning my car on,unlocking the doors and popping my mother's trunk open. he finds the keys no matter where i put them! thank goodness my auto start turns off automatically!

OMG! DD has done this to me in the past, but we dont' have a garage. I have a spare set so if I hear it turn on, I turn it off right away  She rarely gets my keys anymore for that reason, but sometimes she's sneaky!

We keep our keys hanging up, for this reason, and also so that we can find them when it's time to get in the car....
DD especially, loves to take things and hide them. I "lost" my cellphone for a day (of course, the battery was dead at the time, so I couldn't even call it....  ), and we lost one of our remotes for about a week.
