I'm back and I'm a mommy-including birth story (very long..sorry)
Hi ladies! First off, I have been MIA for quite a while and I apologize. I was so tired and uncomfortable and miserable for the last week of my pregnancy that I didn't even come on the computer.
But, without further ado, I am proud to announce that I am the mommy of a beautiful baby boy, Steven. He was born November 17th at 8:55 pm.
I went to the doctor on November 16th, one week after my due date. The doctor and I had planned to induce on Monday the 20th had I not gone into labor before then. I had been feeling contractions for a few days, but nothing regular. Finally, on Friday morning at 8am I felt a strong pain and just knew that it was time and the day had come. By 11:00 the contractions were 5 minutes apart, lasting about a minute, getting worse real quickly. I finally got to the hospital and hooked up to the monitors at 1:30 and they were now 2 and 3 minutes apart, lasting two minutes. I wasn't even feeling a break in between and I was 4cm. I was progressing quickly and doing well without the epidural, which is how I planned on delivering. However, at about 3:00 I had reached 6 cm. Now, I had maybe a 30 second break between contractions, if I had any break. I finally asked for the epi and got it around 5:00 at that time I was still at 6 cm. My doctor administered the pitocin to help me contract a little harder in hopes for progression, because I had now been 2 hours at 6cm. Well, baby boy wasn't having it and his heart rate kept dropping, even on the lowest dosage level. By this time, I had been 4 hours at 6 cms and the doctor, my husband, and I decided that the best thing to do was a c-section before the baby was put under too much stress.
Steven Michael was born at 8:55 pm, weighing in at a hearty 9lbs 10 ozs, 21 inches long.

Steph I was sooooo worried about you! I checked every day looking for you!! I'm so glad to hear you and your little are ok!! I can't believe you went almost a week late!!

Ok first of all let me just say that I have been worried sick about you! I remember posting here about you the first day I noticed you'd gone "MIA" and I figured you'd had Steven, but then as the days went on and you never posted, I started getting a little worried...
.. I'm so glad now that everything is OK and that your beautiful boy is here, safe & sound!!
He is just GORGEOUS! I love all his hair.. so cute! I'm so happy for you! I feel like we went through so much of our pregnancies together, its so great to see your little man here
