Thank you everyone for the support.
I can't seem to stop crying. I keep thinking of all the things he used to do and how he's not here to do them anymore.
He used to attack my yarn when I tried to crochet.
He always followed me into the bathroom, he followed me everywhere in the house.
If I went outside to smoke, he'd wait at the back door and meow until I came back in.
He always slept with me.
I feel so lost. I don't know what to do.
ETA: I'm sorry now for all the times I yelled at him for something stupid.

I feel so lost. I don't know what to do.
I know exactly how you feel. I lost my 'shadow' after 14 years just 3 weeks ago. Time is the only thing that helps. You just need to grieve.

I'm so sorry  I know how badly it hurts to lose a pet, especially when it's so sudden.
If nothing else, I'm glad that you rescued him and gave him 4 great years with you!

I'm so so sorry!!!! I'm a cat person, and I know how sad you must be!!!! one of our kitties died on my birthday 2 years ago but she was sick, so it was almost a blessing.....my sis had a cat w/ leukemia- she didn't even know...he died when he was 2 and she was heartbroken too.....sorry to hi-jack, but I just wanted to say at least he was loved & cared for, for four years!! only time will heal the pain, here's some hugs!!!
