Im confused with the milk stuff
I want to introduce milk now and we dont see the ped till next month, dont feel like calling over this.
Do I just give him some milk?
In a Sippy cup or a bottle?
Or do i make formula with milk?
Or half milk , and half water in the bottle with formula?

I started mixing the milk in with the formula. She would take 6oz bottles, so I would do half formula, half milk. I did that for a few days, then after that did whole bottles of milk. About 2 weeks later I used cups exclusively and sold the bottles on ebay so I wouldn't feel the need to waiver on it

I did the gradual intro for DD....1 oz milk in a 7 oz soy formula bottle. She was fine with milk products.
DS on the other hand...still can't tolerate real yogurt but does fine with cheese so I may hold off till after his 1 yr

At a year, I was told to start off slowly by adding about 2 oz of milik with formula. Then to see how it agrees with dc. Then to add more gradually from there. But, I know some moms do it cold turkey!!

I just did it cold turkey honestly. No mixing, no formula. Just stopped and switched to milk.
We had some, er, mushy poops for about a day or two and then it was normal.
He loves milk. I give him a sippy in the morning, then I send in one of those Horizon milk juicebox things to daycare and he has some before bed.
BTW, I switched before a year and also without talk to my ped.

Ped told us to start at 11 months so he would be weaned off formula by 12 months( which I dont see happening with my kid...but...)
. Didnt give me details and I didnt think to ask specifics

I always weaned....in 2oz increments...
for an 8oz bottle I would start with 6oz formula 2oz milk..give it a few days..then 4oz formula 4oz milk..give it a few days..etc..etc..etc..

i was told to do this :
day 1: 3/4 formula 1/4 milk
day 2: 1/2 formula 1/2 milk
day 3: 1/4 formula - 3/4 milk
day 4 - all milk
i like that my ped spells it all out for me!

I gave him some just now in a sippy cupa nd he is screaming for more. IT was about 2 oz's-3 oz's.

We did. And it was fine, just don't over do it at first so his body can adjust.
Which is why I think most people do the formula/milk combo.

Ale has had straight milk - on the plane for example and you know she had goat's milk. She was fine with the transition, I didn't do it gradually but then again she has only had 3 bottles of it so far. I was going to start when I use up the formula we have - DH got a HUUUUUUUUGE can of Similac the other day!
