I'm home with my baby girl!! (long... so sorry!)
Hello everyone! Thanks for all the well wishes and easy labor vibes. Unfortunately all those vibes must have missed my delivery room! 
I got my first contraction at 12:00 am on Monday 12/22. They were 7 minutes apart until 3 am and then they started to come a little closer together. By 4:30 am I called my OB because they were 3-4 minutes apart and the pain was increasing. So, my DH and I were off to the hospital! I couldn't believe it was actually happening. I got to the hospital and the contractions were very painful, but I wasn't even a full centimeter dilated yet! Yikes! My OB saw me at 7:30 after I had a little morphine to take the edge off and I was one centimeter. He advised me that they dont usually admit women until they're 3 cm so he asked if I wanted to wait a few more hours in the room and he would check to see if there was progress. The last thing I wanted to do was leave the hospital. He checked me again at 10:45 am and I was still having contractions about 4 minutes apart but I was not any further dilated than I was 3 hours earlier. I ended up leaving the hospital (still having contractions) and went to the OB office at 2 pm for another checkup. I was in such bad pain, but yup...you guessed it, no further dilated yet!!!!!!!
By 5 pm I was in tears at home, the pain was so bad, I asked my husband to call the OB and tell him that we have to go to the hospital and I cannot be sent home this time!!! He agreed and within 25 minutes I was checked in. I went on pain medication but couldn't get an epidural until I was about 4 cm. That epidural finally went in at 2:30 am, that was 26 1/2 hours after my contractions started. I have never been more in love with someone than I was with the man who gave me the epidural!
By 7 am I was 9 cm dilated and still not feeling a thing. It was great. By 9 am I was fully dilated and getting ready to start pushing this baby out!
I first started pushing at 9:30 am. I didnt know how long it would last, but I had come so far that I just wanted to hold my  ! I kept pushing at the nurse and doctors request, trying my hardest to get her out..My energy was dropping quickly but they said they could see her head, so I pushed even harder to get her here! As you know from preggo08's update the other day(thank you Kenzie!!!!) At around 1:30 pm it was decided no matter how hard I tried, the baby was not coming out. As it turns out I had a little extra piece of bone at the top of my pelvic bone and everytime I pushed, her head would stop at that bone, she couldn't get out. I went in for my c-section and she was finally born at 2:28 pm. My husband was so excited, but honestly I can remember hearing her cry for the first time, and I remember feeling pressue as they pulled her out, but everything else after that point was lost due to the painkillers and anesthesia. My DH took video for me so that I am able to see everything I missed when she came out.
The only thing that is making my recovery worse is the fact that I pushed for so long (so I have those lovely after effects) and then had the c-section so the incision is painful. I can hardly move sometimes and I'm not sure if it's total body soreness from pushing or from the abdominal surgery.
Ashley finally made her debut on 12/23/2008, weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces and she's 20 inches long. She's perfect and I love her so much!! We just got home today and she's taking a great nap, which is why I am writing this super long post!!
Thank you to everyone on here, my pregnancy was much easier because I was able to talk everything through with you girls!!

I was almost in tears when I saw the one with "My First Christmas" stuffed animal!!

I am so happy for you - congratulations! It sounds like you had a tough time but I am sure it's more than worth it all at the end, just like they say.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! omg, i read your birth story out loud to my husband. i am still in shock!
all those hours of contractions and then the pushing and then in the end you needed a csection.
omg! you've been through so much Tracy! 
i hope you recover quickly!
i cant wait to see pics of Ashley!!!!! thank you so much for sharing your birth story!!
congrats!!! and i'll be joining you soon enough on the parenting boards.. or whenever this baby decides to make his or her appearance!
