I'm in a book exchange and I need to buy a book for a 3.5 year old....what's "hot"...any suggestions?
Need to buy a book for a 3 1/2 year old girl who has everything. I want to find something really special for her. Does anyone have any favorite books for that age? Thanks!!

Steven just got a great book as a gift and I'm sure this girl would love it. It's call Knuffle Bunny. It has black and white photos from around Brooklyn and then drawings in color. It's really great, even I love it!
ETS: here is a pic of it.

She might be a little young but Fancy Nancy books are pretty big right now. My niece has loved them since she was a little over 4.

I've heard this book is cute for girls around that age:

I love Mo Willems. Knuffle Bunny is FANTASTIC - but for a little boy I would totally go with one of the pigeon books or with Leonardo The Terrible Monster. They are really funny and the author doesn't 'talk down' to his audience.
Leonardo is straight up adorable and funny. The pidgeon books are hilarious and are fun to read because the kids can participate!
Good luck!

Thank you all for your great suggestions. I had to buy the book yesterday and ended up going with Knuffle Bunny.

Knuffle Bunny is great. The Pigeon books are a little sophisticated for that set IMO.
Also good, Kitten's First Full Moon, by Kevin Henkes, and Pete's a Pizza (don't remember the author). Hi Pizza Man is another good one, or almost anything featuring trains. Chugga, Chugga Choo Choo is fun.
