I'm in balmex hell (pics on pg 2)
I was helping my son do his homework while my daughters were watching Dora. I heard them giggling I just assumed they thought soemthing was funny on the show. Well, not 5 min later I go into the living room to find 2 ghost white faces. They smeared Balmex all over their faces & heads. I have washed their hair twice & they are still slimey. My next step is to use dish soap.
Of course as soon as I wiped their faces I thought dang I should of taken a photo! LOL

oh no!!
Do you have any astringent? or witch hazel or something like that? you can use that to get rid of the slime from their face! The dishsoap works beautifully on the hair!

My daughter did that a few months ago, except she put it in her hair. Can you imagine trying to get Balmex out of hair. It took about 5 or 6 shampoo sessions to get it to look normal again.

I've washed their hair 6 times each. 2 times with dish soap & 4 times with shampoo. Still a bit slimey This is the only time I wish they were boys. (shorter hair)

think Balmex is oil based so your best bet may be to try rubbing baby oil in your child's hair, then shampoo out any oil residue. The more rubbing you do with the oil, the more will come out

I will give it a try. But, are you sure it won't make their hair more oily?

OMG Too bad you didn't get a picture!
My niece did this to my sister with a huge jar of Vaseline one night. She used baby powder to dry up the vaseline and gave her a bath.
