I'm leaving for Disney in about 34 hours. UPDATE at bottom.
I have not packed, I have not even made a list of things I need to pack. So not like me...
Any suggestions on must-brings?
Any suggestions on new, can't-miss attractions? Last time we were there was Spring '05.
TIA!

Re: I'm leaving for Disney in about 34 hours.
We just got back from Disney last night. The heat and humidity in Florida was almost unbearable. It was 90-something everyday with about 99% humidity. We ended up going back to the hotel ever afternoon to cool off and take a break - we really had to - it was that bad.
The parks weren't too crowded but they weren't empty either. Definitely get Fastpasses.
We saw our first lovebugs yesterday, so they just started coming out. Hopefully it won't be that bad for you.
As far as attractions, the Rock n Roll roller coaster at MGM is closed until October sometime. We were bummed! As far as recommending attractions, I love everything so I say just do as much as you can.
Where are you staying?
Have a great trip!

Re: I'm leaving for Disney in about 34 hours.
We're staying at the Beach Club Resort - never been there before, but EVERYTHING was booked for when we were going!
Please explain these lovebugs to me. They're making me nervous. I do not take kindly to anything with more than 4 legs, or with wings, if it isn't a bird.
ETA: Thanks for the warning about the weather - we'll hit the pool in the afternoons, I guess. I was SOOO getting used to 70 degree days....:)

Re: I'm leaving for Disney in about 34 hours.
They don't bite but they are just annoying.
Also about the weather - it poured every single evening we were there (just for like an hour), so definitely pack an umbrella (we got caught in the rain several times). A lot of people had those plastic ponchos with them so you might want to grab those from the store before you go because they were like $20 each there.
I heard great things about the Beach Club Resort while we were there! You should have a great time!

Beach Club is a fun resort, make sure you head to Beaches & Cream for burgers

Re: I'm leaving for Disney in about 34 hours.
We were there in January-- DH had a convention and I went with him. Last time I was there was 20 years ago as a kid!
I loved the new Everest roller coaster at Animal Kingdom-- it was sick.
If you really want to splurge, have dinner at Victoria & Alberts. The food was amazing (we are TOUGH customers). It's expensive, but a special dining experience.
I went to all the parks, cause I had a of free time since DH was technically "working". I would definitely get a Park Hopper, so you can explore and see everything.

Re: I'm leaving for Disney in about 34 hours. UPDATE w/ review at bottom.
We got back on Sunday. The Beach Club was fantastic. We could see the Epcot fireworks from the boardwalk, and could walk to Epcot, so we ended up there for dinner a few nights. The restaurant in "Morocco" was fantastic, so was the Oktoberfest in "Germany."
We went to Victoria & Albert's the last time we were there, and is definitely worth every penny you pay. Pricey, but the food is AMAZING.
We skipped the new roller coaster at Animal Kingdom because we're chicken, but it looked cool from far away.
The Beach Club has a character breakfast every morning that you don't need a reservation for, so we hit that twice (the food was just that good) and they have a clambake every night. We hit that twice, too. If you don't like seafood, there are ribs and chicken. And phenomenal desserts.
It was a deluxe resort, so a little pricey, but worth EVERY PENNY.
Thanks to everyone for their input!

I am glad you had a great time! I really like the Beach Club. Lucky you walking into Cape May Cafe -- we were there two weeks ago and couldn't get a last minute adr to save our life.
