Im new

Hi ladies,

Im new here., a friend recommended these forums to me and I really need it.
I lost my little one about 12 days ago. I was 19 weeks and I have been a wreck emotionally ever since. I've been having such a hard time dealing with moving on, I know its early and I've accepted what has happened but I find it so hard being around other people when I am mourning my baby and everyone is in their own element.

I am consumed in why me thoughts, my body still thinks I'm prego and Im still feeling the soarness and hormones!!
Im emotional., Im oily, my chest is ginormous and kililng me...and Im 10 pounds overweight...I want to move on but I still feel prego, when does it go away???

I think it takes everyone different amounts of time to go back to feeling "normal". Honestly, I never really felt pregnant, so I didn't experience a lot of changes before or after. Did you have a D&C? I would think if you did, some of the hormones and other symptoms would start to dissipate soon after, I didn't have one so I'm not sure.

Like Jen said, the girls on this board are super supportive, and it is a great place to talk Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It def is very hard having to go through this and I can only imagine how your feel having it happen later in your pregnancy. I can tell you after having my 2nd miscarriage about 2 weeks ago you will start to feel better. Each day I def get a little stronger and start to heal. It helps to spend sometime to mourn and not just throw yourself back into work and reality. My husband and I spent a week off from work and really just had our time alone to be upset.

In terms of physically feeling better, it will def take you a few weeks since you were further along. I know after both miscarriages I felt tired for a week or two....which i believe is just from the changes in hormones & my boobs were still sore for about a week.

Don't worry about the weight, you will lose it! We are here to help motivate you. I am up 10lbs myself after everything...gained 5 each mc due to the stress.

Re: Im new

Thank you all ladies.

I had a D & E at 19 weeks. I had a choice of that or giving actual birth. I chose D & E so that it wouldnt be traumatic to me for future TTC. It was a horrible experience.

My baby's heart failed.

How crazy I felt very alone before finding this forum to feeling like I have some support.
Its been hard for everyone around me to give both of us support. DH's family are not the most vocal people and do not express themselves. They do not know what to say. I have found myself to become so angry at those people because I need that support.Chat Icon
Glad to find you girls

My body , being that I waited so long to give it a chance still thinks im pregnant and im going through all the emotions its horrible.

Re: Im new

I think it's hard for people who never went through it to truly give the best support. They always try to say the right things but it's never good enough. Or, if you actually do want to talk about it they shy away uncomfortable. I found that alot..I like to talk things through and felt like people just wanted to ignore it. That's why this site is so great...no one ever makes you feel crazy or alone. I hope you find it comforting.

Im finding this to be happening with Dh's family. They havent given us the support that we need., my family has been great but it has made me so mad at them for not supporting their son when they need to. I dont need to talk to them and have conversations but a "Im sorry for your loss" would be great to hear also. They are totally ignoring it and kind of saying...DONT MENTION IT to get me upset but the not mentioning it is making it worse for me.

I understand they do not know what to say b/c if it were me I wouldnt either but we need people. Im glad I found this site I know it will help me a lot.

Re: Im new

I know you already know, but I also had a loss this year in March at 19 weeks, I had to deliver and then I had a D&C, it was pretty traumatic, but to be honest, I knew that if something wasn't right, it was the best thing that the pregnancy ended. I didn't so much mourn the loss of my baby (which may sound callous) but I did mourn the end of my hopes and dreams at that point. My body recovered pretty quickly and I felt pretty good after about a week. I did have about six weeks off of work, which I definitely needed at the time!

My best advice, just think positively!!! I knew that only good things were going to come to me after the worst had happened, and you know what, after two cycles, on the first try, I got pregnant and I am 31 weeks pregnant with the little girl I have always wanted, so come March I will have one of each!

I know this is probably a personality thing, but I didn't dwell on it for too long, I really did just try to move on as quickly as possible, and I say to you my mantra...Only good things to come for you!!!
