I'm Pregnant!
I am a regular member here on the boards and have always been posting on the NWR board, however lately I haven't cuz i've been so busy at my job. We plan an annual dental convention and we just had it so now that I have some time to breathe I hope I am welcomed back!
I do have some great news to share. I just found out that my husband and I will be having our first baby.....i'm about 4 months pregnant! I could not believe it. I feel kind of stupid that I never noticed or felt it. Yes of course I noticed the skipped period but my period is so irregular that it has skipped before due to a hormonal imbalance and that's what I thought what was happening again since I didn't feel any other symptoms. No morning sickness or mood swings. Back in September I did take a Home Pregnancy Test which came out negative, so that made me put the thought behind me. Then in the end I was like "this is ridiculous that my period hasn't come" So I finally decided to go to the doctor to get myself checked out and to get my period regulated so it would make things easier when trying to conceive. The doctor checks me out, and I did do pregnancy test there as well and before she even saw the results she knew I was pregnant. After the breast exam she started feeling my belly and she felt it there. I was sooooooooooooooo shocked!!!
I cannot believe that I never noticed anything! Yes I saw I was gaining a little weight but I thought I was just plain getting fat cuz I have poor eating habits. I really didn't gain that much weight, maybe like 1 or 2. It's funny cuz i've been saying that as soon as the Holidays are over I was going on a diet! LOL LOL LOL
I've told some of my friends, my boss, and my co-workers. We are waiting till christmas eve to tell the family. It's the perfect opportunity where everyone will be gathered together.
OMG! the shock still hasn't worn off. I'm feeling so many emotions, excitement, nervousness, shock. I had a million questions for the doctor. we are going to discuss everything more in detail when I go for my second appointment. I have an appointment wednesday for a sonogram and then another appointment with the doctor on Jan 5. She said my due date is May 26th.

How exciting you are already in your 2nd trimester!!! I go to the Dental Convention every year at The Javitts Center--it's a big production  Congrats and Good Luck!!

Oh wow...I work for the company that puts together that convention. It's called "Greater New York Dental Meeting"

We don't know the sex yet.
One of my friends says it's a boy as soon as I told her that I have not had any morning sickness. She said that she heard if you are not sick during your pregnancy it's a boy if you are sick then it's a girl...I don't know how true this is...there are so many stories out there....

what's so ironic is that last year for x-mas eve DH's family was over and one of his brothers and his wife announced they were expecting their child. Now this year we are at this same brother's house for x-mas eve and it will be us announcing that we're expecting......

Interesting because I had no sickness with my first and had a boy. This time around, we don't know yet, but I was sick the first 11 weeks. So we'll see how true this is!
