What is an nt measurement? Are you talking about nuchal fold?

I believe the Nuchal Translucency test, if it comes up high is an indicator as a risk for Down Syndrome. Don't get scared...it is just a risk factor for it...and your OB will probably recommend an amnio, or other testing.

OK. This is what I thought. I just wasn't thinking last night. Sorry.
If it's based on blood work alone, please, don't worry. So many falst positives out there.
Like above poster said, your dr. will probably recommend an amnio or maybe a CVS test.
My DD has Ds.

My DS had a very high risk for Down's and an extremely high risk for Trisomy 13/18. This was based on the NT and bloodwork from a genetic counselor.
I had an amnio and everything worked out perfectly fine! I've since heard of and spoken to many women who have had similar experiences and it has been ok.
One thing I can recommend-if you opt to have an amnio, have the FISH done as well. Those are little markers they tag the chromosomes with so you get early results. For me, it was a godsend because that was one of the longest months of my life!

thank you so much for ur replies ,,, i had my blood back today and the doctor has given me a 1 in 4 chance of downs bt low risk for edwards and triscomy my measurement was 3.6 my hcg is 4.8 and pep a 0.78. ,, have a scan to check for heart and kidney problems in a gew weeks im declined the needle tests amnio etc purly for the fact they are so sure its downs and im happy as long as baby gets here safe thabk you so luch for ur support i posted somewhere else and got lots of negative posts bavk xxx

for my age the risk should be 1 in 1500 im so shocked it seemed like a dream or like it cld all be fine up untill today
