I'm ready to quit my job
My boss has been on my azz for about three months regarding my numbers (I'm in ad sales) meanwhile his two new sales ppl that he single handedly hired have not done much while being here... I feel like he's laying the groundwork out for me not have my job back when I come back from maternity leave which is fine, since I don't plan on coming back in teh first place, but I just want my last month and half to be stress free, and I've been fighting with him all day today...I'm ready to just walk out and leave....but DH doesn't want me losing roughly two months of pay and possibly my medical insurance, bc I'm not on his bc we were dumb and didn't put me on this year at open enrollment... Can I just take disability early..what should I do??? I really can't take the stress anymore!!! I've been running into the bathroom and crying on and off all day!!!

OMG, that stinks. I'm also in ad sales (media though). I'm so sorry. You're so close to the end, I would just hold out as long as you can. Hang in there!

If you have a change of status (IE not working) then you should be able to get on DHs insurance. The disability you would not get though if you quit. Maybe tell your Dr how much stress your job is causing and see if you can get a medical release to go out early.
I am so sorry you have to deal with this in the home stretch.

I agree, I'd talk to your Dr and see if the excessive stress would be reason enough to be off from work.

Yah my dr did say he would write me a note whenever, so I know thats an option...but i honestly don't want to lose the next month and half of pay, we can afford it, but at th e same time its nice to have the extra cash for the next month and a half...

I know it's hard to give up income, you feel like you should be able to just stick it out, even though dealing with the stress of a taxing job isn't really a 'just'.
I've been having more and more of those days where I just don't want to deal with the BS anymore. I think a big part (for me) is that I just don't have the patience I used to have AND I know I only have 2 months left.
If it gets to the point where the stress doesn't seem worth it, I'd take the disability, your health and sanity are more important than the extra income.

If you want to go out on disability, you'd need a doctor's note certifying that you're unable to work. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

Re: I'm ready to quit my job
As someone who's out on disability right now, take it from me--while it's a nice relief to not have the stress of my job to deal with right now, it also STINKS that I'm using up all of my FMLA time even before the baby gets here.
Try to hang in there as long as you can. I am so upset that I am only going to have a few weeks with the baby before I need to return to work.

Re: I'm ready to quit my job
aww!! i am so sorry!! i say have your dr. write you out of work. since you dont plan on coming back, you don't have to worry about taking time away from your maternity leave.
start complaining to your dr. that you are experiencing a lot of back pain and leg cramps making it very difficult to commute to work... he/she will put you on disability.. and once you have the baby and your disability runs out, quit.
my sister in law had her dr. write her off a full month before her due date...
good luck!!!

Re: I'm ready to quit my job
that's horrible to put a pregnant woman through!!! I'm soooo sorry, soon enough you will be out of there, just hang in there maybe there is a way you can be added to your DH's insurance so you can just quit, I wouldn't worry about the 1 mo. of pay you will lose, you have to worry about how the stress will be affecting you more than anything else
