I'm shaving my head for childhood cancer research--Please help

ST. BALDRICKS WEBPAGE

I don't know how to XP--sorry

Please click the above link to donate by phone/mail/online.

YOU CAN CALL ME A REPEAT OFFENDER... BECAUSE IM DOING IT AGAIN!!!!!!

Please help me raise money for kids with cancer. On March 8 I will AGAIN be doing one of the BOLDEST things I have ever done in my life, and it's all for a good cause. I will be shaving my head (YES AGAIN!!!!) to show my support to kids undergoing chemo and raising money for lifesaving research.

I will shave my head in memory of my cousin Kristy Lyn Haley (March 12, 1979-November 29, 2000)
Please visit Kristy's website (copy and paste)
http://kristylynhaley.tripod.com/Kristy_Lyn_Haley.html

I will also be shaving for Kyle Lynn, a very courageous young boy I met while participating in St. Baldricks last year. Please help me raise money for kids like Kristy and Kyle who are continuing their fight against Cancer!!!

I do this in memory of those who lost their fight, and in honor of those who have won!!
Please help me in any way that you can. Every dollar counts.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE also pass this website onto others!!

I raised over $3,000 last year and this year I will start with my goal higher than that. I want to raise over $5,000!!!! So please help me reach my goal and hopefully I can keep raising it like I did last year!!! Last year I raised my goal 4 times, this year I want to raise it 4 more!

I know what you're thinking. "April, again?" And my answer is YES AGAIN. Honestly, I have never felt so much passion towards something in my life. This year I had intended on only being involved by helping to organize, but I can't only do that. My heart is telling me 100% to do it again.

Anyway its only hair---IT WILL GROW BACK!!!!!!

SO PLEASE HELP ME IN MY FIGHT AGAINST CHILDHOOD CANCER!!!!

Re: I'm shaving my head for childhood cancer research--Please help

you should cross post this. not too many people read this board or charity.

If you cross post to NFR, you'll get a lot more responses.Chat Icon

ETA: just read your original post. would it be ok if i cross posted for you?

Re: I'm shaving my head for childhood cancer research--Please help

Aww I'm sorry for your loss. My cousin too lost her battle with cancer in 2000 at the age of 21. Shes the reason I got so involved in the first place.

It really was such a great feeling when I did it. yes i was bald.. but it was totally worth it!

What kind of cancer did your step sister have?
My cousin had melanoma from a mole on her back. 2 years after it was removed the cancer spread to her lung and 2 months later it spread to her brain. She passed away in Germany where she went to get steriod injections that weren't yet legal in the US. Unfortunately she passed away before she got her first injection.
She never lost her hair, but I know if the roles were reversed, she would do it for me.
I'm a changed person because of her.

Sorry to blabber on.

WOW. I am so impressed you are donig this. You are right that hair is only hair and grows back, but for females in this society giving it up is a big deal. You are amazing!

I will contribute what I can to your cause. DH had ALL for 3 years as a child and my Dad is currently fighting pancreatic cancer, so I am a big advocate of cancer related charities!

Thank you so much! Every dollar counts! If you are local and not doing anything on March 8 (sat) you should come down to Napper Tandys in Northport. It's a great event!

I wish your family a year of good health!

Re: I'm shaving my head for childhood cancer research--Please help

Holy small world. GB=Goldman Brothers right? I remember when she worked there.
But thank you and yes, I'm her cousin. Once she passed away, everything she was, I turned into. I know that if the roles were reversed, she'd be the one doing this for me.

If you have any stories about her, I'd love to hear them. I know its random lol but I love hearing things about her. I miss her like crazy, and she IS the reason why I get so involved.

If you are local, you should def try to come down on March 8.
