Re: Im such a bad girl...

Posted by Diane So now how do I tell him Xmas morning that I dont like it without him being offended??
Just say thank you and wear it for him once in a while
I completely disagree with this. I see what your point is, but would you keep something you don't like just to appease your spouse?
If it were me, I would say thank you for the thought, but, it's really not my style and return that sucka right quick!
Quite frankly, my husband would be annoyed if I kept a gift I didn't like.
Good luck!

Wear it one time and tell him the catch keeps getting caught on your shirt, you HAVE to exchange it. Dont deal.

Re: Im such a bad girl...
This has happened to me before. Now, when he wants to buy me jewelry, he takes me to the store, makes me play somewhere else for a few minutes and picks out 3-5 options. THEN I'm allowed back and I get to pick which one I like best!
This year, I wasn't allowed to pick! He must feel pretty confident in his choice.
If I were in your spot, I would politely tell him that its not my taste. He'd be angry at first, then tell me that I'm the worst to buy for, then eventually see my point that its so wasteful to keep expensive jewelry in a box somewhere. I've returned some things from Rich before....he once bought me a yellow gold heart pendant that looked like it had been sitting in the jewelry case since 1986. My face went blank when I opened it - i was speechless! I didn't even have to say anything - he said, "OK, it's returnable" .

If I were in your shoes, DH would know that it wasn't really my taste. He would rather spend the money on something I really like and am going to wear than waste it on something that isn't me. I realize that not all guys react the same way, but I feel that you should be able to tell him, "honey, thank you for the bracelet, but in all honesty, it just isn't my taste. Would you be terribly hurt if we went back to macys together to pick out something that I will really love?"
i totally agree with this
"you did a really good job.. but knowing me, i probably won't wear it that much.. and for the $ you spent maybe i can get something that i would wear everyday.."
good luck!
