I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but...

When did you tell people about your pregnancy? I had my 8 week visit today and everything looked good. Measuring on track, strong hb, etc.

We haven't told anyone yet, including parents. We were going to spill the beans on Mother's Day (I had seen the hb at 6wks during an emergency visit) but I chickened out. Now we're thinking Father's Day, but that seems SO far away.

What did you ladies do?

Re: I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but...

We found out the day before Thanksgiving and didn't say a word to anyone. We had the 8 week appointment 1 week before Christmas and told everyone on Christmas. I'm a sentimental sap and would be willing to wait until Father's Day to make it extra special. Especially if you and DH are close with your dads.

Re: I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but...

We told our parents and siblings right away (they would have noticed anyways me not drinking wine and cutting down on coffee!) and waited until about 12 weeks to tell everyone else. Oh, I also told certain people at work right away, because sometimes I have to help control situations with kids getting physical, and as a safety precaution, certain people needed to know.

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but...

#1- Told only a couple of people before the first appointment. Told family after the first appt. "Came out"after getting the results of the NT scan - around 13w.

#2- Told most family before first appt. "Came out" again after getting the results of the NT scan - around 12-13w.

#1 parents told right after we saw hb at 5 weeks. Then we told our BFFs. Everyone else between 10-12 weeks

#2 parents after we saw the hb at about 7 weeks, everyone else at 12+ weeks. The second one is weird. We forgot to tell people. So bizarre. I just told a friend 2 days ago and I'm due in 6 weeks. Oops!

Re: I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but...

i had miscarried on my first pregnancy and could not have hid it or gone through it alone, so when i got pregnant this time, i still told the family at 5 weeks. we celebrated and prayed and had good happy thoughts Chat Icon

i told my good friends at about 10 weeks because they also knew about the first MC, and i would be seeing them all soon at a party and couldnt lie about not drinking etc.

work i told about 12 weeks, and the kids (im a teacher) ar 16 weeks.

#1- I was going through IF treatments that my mom and sister knew about, so they knew pretty much as soon as I got my BFP, and we told the rest of the family at 8 weeks. Everyone else 12 weeks.

#2- Told family at 12 weeks, everyone else at 14 weeks.

Parents and siblings right away.

Everyone else about three months although warning: the parents and siblings are the worst when it comes to prematurely letting the cat out of the bag! Chat Icon

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but...

Told mothers & father at 11 weeks, BFF's and grandparents at 12/13 weeks, and everyone else at 15/16 weeks. I was getting too round to hide it at that point. I'll likely do the same for the next pregnancy - which DH seems already itching for, LOL.

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but...

Told our parents on Father's Day last year, I was about 10 weeks. We were visiting my in laws, and wanted to tell them in person instead of on the phone. Everyone else we told at 12-13 weeks.

Once I was out of my first trimester we told parents(waited for NT results).Things can happen at anytime during pregnancy (had late term losses) but a lot of people wait for those genetic testing results before spilling the beans.

Definitely not spreading the word until I'm out of the danger zone of 1st trimester. I had considered waiting until Father's Day, but I begin 2nd trimester in just 2 weeks so I don't think I want to wait any longer.
