I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about my GD, but I can't help it
So, I went for my GD (Gestational Diabetes) classes..they were interesting. Not as horrible as I thought they'd be.
I also got my results of the 3 hour. I did not fail that bad!! I am (as my first Dr. said) borderline. The drs there do not think I will need insulin. I have been testing my sugar for a few days now and haven't had a high reading (knock on wood that this continues). Can't wait until Monday so I can rub it in the nasty pants doctors face at my appt.!!!
Also, I had discussed this with my Cardio and she decided to do a Hemoglobin A1C Bloodtest, which is the test for diabetics. Its basically gives a 3 month average of your blood-sugar levels.
Normal is between 4-6%. Mine was 5.4%. HAHAHAHA. My mom who is diabetic and controls her levels with medicine, said hers has never been that low. (that's my smug smile).
Also, every other girl in the classes had MUCH MUCH higher levels than me. I kinda felt like it was a waste for me to be there, but whatever, it's over now. I'm still angry about it, because they actually want your levels very low and I feel like it's a little dangerous adn I know I get shaky and heachaches when mine are too low.

That is a really good HA1C ! In the end all that matters is you are doing all you can to keep yourself and your baby healthy.
As someone who has been living with diabetes , since I am 14, i have to tell you there are still days where I get frustrated. It is especially difficult now that I am pregnant since the Dr.'s change all my meds and of course the times I have to test has increased.
Best of luck to you!

Not sick of hearing about it. Glad to hear your numbers were so good! That is great news. Now go rub it into that awful doctors face. And use your special smug face.
