Impetigo
Has anyones child had this? My babysitters son was diagnosed with this on Sat. He is on antibiotics. Is there anyway it could turn into, or be mistaken for the staph infection?

Re: Impetigo
It's in the Staph family and I believe contagious.

Re: Impetigo
If he was diagnosised on Sat and has been taking his meds by Monday he won't be contagious anymore BUT all of his sheets, towels and pillows need to be washed in hot water. That would be the part that concerns me the most

I do not believe it's the same because it is treated by antibiotic. The 'superbug' which has been around for awhile, is resistant to most antibiotics but one I believe. The 'superbug' I remember hysteria about this about 10 years ago too, they were calling it the flesh eating virus.
I don't blame you for being nervous, but impetigo is very treatable. Just make sure that she has washed all linens and such in hot water.

Re: Impetigo
Yes, it's treatable but he should not "touch" it and wash his hands often. Wash everything else too like the PP said (sheets, etc..)
