The only $ I've put towards my retirement is through my 401k plan. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but right now I'm more concerned with saving up for a house than my retirement.

The last few years I have been religious with the IRA. Maxing out both of ours. Once we move this summer, I have to contribute for this year.
*Wanted to add, DH does not have a retirement plan at work which is why I do this

I max out my 401k every year through my job. So i guess its about 14k a year or 1200 a month approximately.

We must be related!
I don't have a plan from work so I put whatever I can into my IRA, the absolute minimum being $100 a month. DH has a 401k through his job that he contributes to.

I have a retirement plan at work and I put $$ into a SRA. But my DH has is self employed and just started putting $$ in an IRA.
I put about $370 a month away.

i put away towards my 403B monthly plus 3% of my salary is automatically decucted per year for my pension.. After 10 years though, I donthave to do that anymore.

I just have my job take out the max for my 403b, and JT maxes out his 401K every year. Once we have a house, we will put away more, but we're saving for a down payment.

we put $50/month into my 403B. We're living on my teaching salary though.
We have a CD with about 1/2 of our wedding money in it, as well as an IRA and some mutual funds though. That will probably mostly be going toward a down payment on a house.

I have a 401k at work and a separate IRA which I haven't been putting much in. I think I've put in $1000 - $2000 a year since I opened it.
We're going to try and put more in this year and open up an IRA for DH as well.

Specifically for retirement: 6% of salary goes into 401k.
I do save $, but that's for our house fund.
