In pain ! What can we take for heartburn?
My chest is on fire ! It has never been this bad, just mild heartburn for a few min and that's it, but tonight it just won't go away, it burns, hurts, since 6 pm and no relief.
Can I take something?

zantac 150.....call and ask your doc 1st of course but wouldnt think it would be a problem

In pain ! What can we take for heartburn?
I took zantac 75 yesterday (the midwife at my practice said if I take the 75, I can take it 2x a day whereas the 150 is only once a day) and it was AMAZING. I thought I was going to have a hole burned through my throat before that, the reflux was so bad.  Hope you feel better! Tums did nothing for me.

In pain ! What can we take for heartburn?
My Dr said the following....
Tums (which did nothing for me)
Milk of magnesium (which did VERY little to help me)
Pepcid 10mg, 2x a day (which is what i am taking now, only at night but was taking 2x a day when i was pregnant with ds)
Zantac 75. 2x a day if all else fails
Hope it goes away soon!! Heartburn sucks!!

I'm on Zantac 150 2x a day (I was with my first two pregnancies as well). I also take tums in between as needed.

In pain ! What can we take for heartburn?
If you want a natural tip to try I do 2T of honey and drink a glass of milk to help with the sweetness. I have GERD horrible and when I have break through heart burn this really helps!
If it stays bad you can take Prilosec and or Zantac. I was on 40mg Prilosec every morning and 150mg Zantac at bedtime to keep it under control.

Thank you everyone, ended up taking Z 75 and finally fell asleep, good thing I had it in the house, nothing else helped :(

I take 2 tums smoothies tablets during the day to ease the immediate burn, and one zantac 150 as needed around dinner time so that it's still working strong by bedtime.
Last pregnancy I was on Pepcid. This time my OB said Zantac. I don't know what the difference is.
