*In terms of NYC schools having to make up the days ....
My cousin who is a NYC principal said the following after I asked her if we had to make the days up...
"No...extra days....we build them in. Contractually, we only need 180 days..NYC school kids have about 187 anyway...so we're good. :) "

actually we are down to 179 school days for the kids, but I'm glad that we're not making them up.
