in the baby food color spectrum, what are "yellow" baby foods?
so dr. was thrilled Luce has started on cereals and said we should sail without fear into the new waters of veggies and fruits.
she told me to try yellows first...but what exactly are "yellow" veggies?
I bought butternut squash, mango, and peaches....I also have green peas (which are obviously green )
did anyone else follow any type of color coded introductory system? are carrots a "yellow" or is there an orange category?
help.

There is yellow summer squash (shaped like zucchini but yellow)
Although carrots and sweet potatoes are orange in color i consider them to be part of the yellow family as they are the first types of veggies to try.
If your making your own-be careful with the carrots, do not use the water you steam them with bc it is high in nitrates.
Also-the yellow summer squash does not freeze well and its texture is a bit "eh" so you may want to wait until your child is ready for thicker texture.
I would do carrot, sweet potato, butternut squash, maybe even spaghetti and acorn squash.

Yes thats right-they are! I have forgotten a little too and for some reason I thought the poster was talking veggies only.
I would wait for the mangos until your child is 8+ months though, they are a tropical fruit and could be allergenic

I agree about mangos!!!
Bananas and apples were our first fruits, and first veggies were actually green veggies

even if my boy is a tropical boy
I mean, I don't think they imported apples and pears to central america where his father's family was born, right?
do you really think it would be that bad?
anyway, I bought them frozen so I can hold off I guess.
so ok, squashes (I eat a ton of summer squash and I don't think I'll be doing that yet for textural issues) pear, apple, banana, carrots, sweet potato.
awesome.
thank you!!
