In the dog house again.. am i wrong about this?
So my parents are mad at me, again, and i really dont think i was wrong... so i am curious... a few days ago my aunt asked if ds and i would like to come over to their house and watch santa come in on the cold spring harbor train tonight... even though ds is 14 months od and really doesnt get santa yet i told them yes... this was without knowing that it was going to be so frigid out tonight... fast forward to this morning... ds woke up and had a 101 fever... not rediculously high but still it is a fever... also it is REDICULOUSLY cold out as we all know... (which being 35 weeks preg my coat really doesnt cover me the best)...
so i called my aunt this morning and cancelled because ds was sick and it was reallly to cold out to be standing outside at 730pm... my aunt completely understood as she heard ds coughing in the background... my parents apparently didnt understand... when i called to tell them that i had to cancel with my aunt do to ds having a fever they basically ripped me a new one... Am I missing something?? I mean I really dont get why i am in the dog house for not wanting to bring my sick child out in 7 degree weather...

They are dumb. Let it roll right off your back. I had a "thing" 1 block away tonight and skipped it, it's too cold to drag ds out in this and hubby's working.

No way. I could see if he was perfectly healthy cancelling in 20 degree weather. If he's sick, it's not even an option.

What is their deal? 101 is a fever why would they even slightly expect you to go. You would also be exposing everyone else to his illness right before Christmas.

I know they are your parents... but what is wrong with people sometimes?! Um... Fever, freezing, almost due!!!! How many more plausible excuses to you need to please them?! As said, let it roll off your back if that's who they are.

Umm you are totally right - but they sound like my MIL -I think you are a good mom for NOT taking him out in the cold when he is sick.

Nope, absolutely the right thing to do, and this is coming from a mom who lets DS go out to play in very cold weather at times, as long as he is bundled up. Just not when he is sick.

Wow, you think grandparents would be more understanding. I don't get it. You should never take a kid outside when they are sick if you don't need to....that is bizarre behavior IMO.
