luckily for DD she was sick only once this year! i was amazed-thought i would need to use all my sick days and didn't. she only had a sinus infection too which wasn't too bad. there are 2 weeks of school left so i am praying we make it!

The first 3 months he was sick once. He's been in Daycare since January and he's only been sick twice. We've been very lucky...knock on wood..hopefully it stays that way.

ALL the time....I rarely called in though, I just made other arrangements for DS. My daycare center is OK with colds and stuff, they will still let kids come. Stomach bugs, fevers and rashes are no's.

It totally depends.

My DS started daycare at 10 months, I only had to call out once and go get him once b/c he was sick.

He did sort of have a constant runny nose/cough though

DD started daycare in Sept at 7 months. ( I am a teacher) Every month from Sept until March one of us had to take a day off because she was sick. Once March was over she hasn't been sick since (knock on wood!)

When she was an infant she was hardly sick. It really started when she started walking and could really get into things and interact with other kids.

My son started daycare at 6 weeks - he wasn't sick until 10 months - then its been ear infection after ei after ei since November. Usually it was only 1 day of missed work if that.

Not once, I have only had to call in work maybe 2 times in the two years he has been in daycare.

DS has been in daycare since the beginning of April. He has been fine this month, but he had a cold and/or cough throughout most of April and May. He'd get better for a few days and would then get congested again.

I didn't have to take off from work since he never had a fever and was usually in good spirits. I also caught 4 colds from him. Chat Icon

Didn't get sick. I didn't have to take any time off from work.

He was only sick enough to stay home one day his entire first year. There were a couple of nights that he was up so much teething that I left him with my ILs for the day so he could rest a little more and get extra attention.

DS had a babysitter ( in her home) the first year and was sick 3-4 times, for his second year he went to a small center ( only 8-10 kids) and was only sick once, so can't really say daycare is any worst than a babysitter or SAH, in my situation. We will see next year when my DD goes to daycare at 4 mos. (in sept)

In the first 3/4 months of daycare, I would say DD was hardly sick. I don't even remember her being sick at all actually.
