Increasing my met is kicking my butt...
I can't eat anything anymore w/o running to the bathroom like 10 mins after. (As you lovely ladies saw at the last smaller GTG. )
This stinks..... We're supposed to go to a party tomorrow night and I don't even want to take my pills. I'll spend the night in the bathroom and they only have 1 bathroom and there's supposed to be like 50 people there! Ugh... sorry, just needed to vent.
ETA: It doesn't matter what I eat either.... I try to avoid carbs and I'm still having issues.

I have to take 4 a day. I was on 3 a day before my m/c but they had to take me off of it for 3 months b/c of the methotrexate. They put me back on 2 a day for the past month and now he increased it to 3 for a week and then up to 4. I was told to do 2 in the morning and 2 at night. Fun times....

Hang in there Shannon And just so you know, getting your BFP may not give you relief - I'm having the same problem over her! So consider it good training!

Re: Increasing my met is kicking my butt...
I know I've mentioned it to you before, but the name brand (NOT generic) Glucophage XR (extended release) was soooooo much easier on the stomach. I was taking 1500mg/day. That's only 2 750mg pills taken at one time (with dinner). I really had no side effects!!!
And the name brand wasn't much more money than the generic either. I think it was $6 and change for the generic and $9.05 for the Glucophage.
Definitely talk to your Dr about getting the name brand!

Re: Increasing my met is kicking my butt...
I have the same problem sometimes. I can go for stretches where it's fine then stretches where I live in the bathroom, no matter what I eat or don't eat.
I take Immodium when I have to go somewhere or do soemthing that the bathroom trips would not work with...like 2 the night before then 1 the next AM and one a few hrs before I leave...it usually does the trick. I never don't take the meds because I find if I miss a day, it gets worse before it gets better.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

Re: Increasing my met is kicking my butt...
It took me a while to adjust..I was on 1500/mg per day. After a while I just knew what I could and couldn't eat - just wasn't worth the side effect! But you mentioned you are having trouble even with avooiding carbs - are you avoiding sugar too?? Maybe you can take some Pepto or something to coat your stomach. I know it stinks but in the end hopefully it will be worth it.

Switching to the XR made things a lot easier for me too. It took 6 months of suffering to ask if there was something I could do to help my bathroom issues - and the XR really did help.

Re: Increasing my met is kicking my butt...
I took all 2000 mg before I went to bed. It made me really regular in the morning! Then I didn't have to worry about it much!

I found taking the whole dose at night did make it easier too, especially when moving up the dose..good point!!

Same here--definitely ask about taking the extended release, maybe then you can take all 4 at once right before bed? It definitely helped me to deal with it.
