Re: Indian food
Jackson Diner on 75th street in Jackson Heights. . . Jackson Heights has HANDS DOWN the best indian food in the city - 75th and 74th street are referred to as little india. Go to Patel brothers grocery store - an enormous south asian market where you can seriously buy anything in the world.
before dinner you can get some henna work done on your hands or buy fabric at any of the innumerable sari shops. I used to live in the heights and I miss the food soooooooooooo much.
(it's called jackson diner cause it was a diner before it was an indian restaurant)

Re: Indian food
according to Zagat
Royal Tangra Masala 2207 Hillside Ave. (Marcus Ave.) New Hyde Park, NY 11040 516-746-4898
25 14 18 $24 Set on an “unassuming block”, this smallish spot serves “great” Sino specialties with a South Asian “spiciness”; Calcutta-born owner Kenneth Chen has hybridized the two cuisines into “interesting” eats “as good as anything you would get back in India”, presented in a casual room adorned by plentiful woodwork and regional paintings; especially given the “decent prices”, the few who’ve found this place feel it’s “worth the trip.”
ive eaten at Jewel of India on Jericho TYurnpike in Syosset and it wasnt half bad

Re: Indian food
Akbar is phenomenal! It is right near the Roosevelt Field Mall. My FIL works with a lot of doctors from India, and they LOVE this place. We went there for my birthday this year, and the food was SO good!
