inexpensive hotel out east?
DH and i want to take DS out east for a few days in august. we don't care about being on the beach at all, close is just fine, because we want to walk around town too.
any recommendations? we don't even have to stay in montauk, just any town that is good to spend about 3 days in the summer.

Try the Enclave Inn in Southampton. I always see signs for $99/ night. They sometimes have 3 day deals in the middle of the week as well.

Try Hamptons on the Bay. They have a motel an cottages.

I'm not sure "inexpensive" and "hotel out east" should ever be used in a sentence together   Especially in august.
Depends on how "out east" you want to go. I know that there are chepaer places to stay in Hamton Bays.
But I know a lot out in Mtk have a 2 or 3 night minimum.

i was thinking the same thing.
maybe we'll try martha's vineyard - although i doubt we will have much luck there either.
