infant car seats
Was it really important for you to have an infant car seat that attached to the shopping cart? I registered for the Graco travel system but upon reading the reviews I found out that they do not attach to the shopping cart. So I am wondering if those who did get ones that attach to the shopping cart get much use out of it and if so, which ones do you recommend? If not, how did you take your LO grocery shopping with you?

Re: infant car seats
My main concern was safety in choosing a carseat.
Truthfully, the question of whether it attached to a shopping cart never even crossed my mind.
But, I've never had a problem attaching my Graco Snugride to a shopping cart, and usually if I am not doing a huge shop, I just use the basket of the Snap and Go anyway.

Same here.
The only problem I have had with shopping carts has been grocery shopping.
I tend to leave DS at home with DH if I need to do a big shop or use the Baby Bjorn.

Re: infant car seats
IMO, it's never safe to attach a car seat to the shopping cart.
If you have to go grocery shopping:
1. leave DC home with DH or 2. use Peapod

Re: infant car seats
Thanks for the replies. I've probably only seen one person at my grocery store with the car seat attached to the cart so when I was reading the reviews and so many people were saying not to get the graco infant seat because of this I was confused as to whether or not this was a deal breaker. Honestly, I can't picture doing an order over a few items with an infant anyway so I guess I'm just going to leave the graco seat on my registry. THANKS!

Re: infant car seats
I actually just posted a reply to a similar question in Parenting
You really shouldn't use a carseat on top of a shopping carriage, here is a link which has an awesome explanation

Re: infant car seats
i dont think that should be a concern when choosing a carseat. I got the Graco Snugride and i never felt comfortable putting DD in the top part if anyting i put her inside the carriage and it was fine.
with the travel system my biggest recommendation would be to skip it since its so bulky and buy a snap and go. SOoo much more convenient and baby will be in there for a while. A lot lighter than the travel system. Then register also for a stroller that she can grow into. The stroller i got actually had a universal car seat adapter and i was able to put it in there, but mainly the snap and go was used for a long time.
Hope this helps!!
