Infant carseat Q for baby #2

Did you buy a new carseat for baby #2 if DCs are close in age?

I do plan on a new double stroller or double sit and stand if we have a #2 in the time frame we would like and the pattern will not match the infant carseat pattern

If you bought a new one why?

- wanted a matching pattern to match new double stroller
- wanted up to date technology/carseat (the one we have would be manufactured about 3 years before #2)
- other

I gave away my first babies carseat so I didn't reuse it. If I would have known I was going to have another baby so soon I would have kept it and reused it.

Both of my girls used the same infant carseat. but they are only 14 months apart so the carseat wasn't that dated.

i'm using the same car seat. i don't really mind if it doesn't match. my car seat is gray and black and i got a black and red sit n stand so it doesn't look bad anyway.

I reused it since they were less than 18 months apart and it seemed like a waste to get a new one. I've since gotten rid of it since I felt like it got a lot of use and if we have another one it will be close to the time where it should be replaced.

I'm not real hung up on the seat matching the stroller, I figured there were better things I could spend the money on. We had a black and creme pattern on the stroller and a light & dark blue pattern on the car seat.

I will reuse my infant car seat they will be 12 months apart.

I will reuse my carseat if I have the next one within a year or two.

He was only in the infant carseat for two months so it's practically brand new

Carseats are good for about 5 years, so we used DS's carrier with DD, who is 3 years younger. Now that it is 5 years old, we'll be disposing of it properly.

I sold my travel system because I hated it so I have to get a new infant seat.

I used my nephews infant seat for baby #1 and will borrow again for baby #2. I will be moving DD into a 3-in-1 booster seat and DD will use the convertable car seats. I will be getting a double stroller (sit and stand plus)

DC will be 25 months apart!!

I plan to use as much from #1 for #2 as I can. I got a gender neutral pattern for the infant car seat/travel system since we didn't find out what we were having. So it'll be good for #2

I will buy another convertible though when the time comes.

I heard that 6 years is the time period.

DS#1, my nephew, DS#2 and my new nephew/niece will all have used the same infant carseat, I don't see much of a problem with it - we will probably use it for #3 (if that falls under the 6 year period)
