Re: Infants and Day Care
In the places that I went to for Molly the babies were all kept on their own schedule. So while some are napping, some are eating and some are up. Most have swings, play mats and age apprioriate toys. They are rocked, sang to, interact with the other babies, read to, feed, burped, changed, tummy time, a walk in the buggy when the weather is nice etc...

Re: Infants and Day Care..update.
Girls the reason I ask is because I am going through a hard time and it is only day 1, I went back to work today, and DD is able to come with me, it is a small office, I am the only office worker, when I was out on maternity leave, they went through 3 workers, none worked out, it was their idea to take DD with me. I have 2 bosses. Today was the first day and she is almost 3 months old. I had her in pack and play when she wanted to nap (2 hours) and in swing most the other time (she loves it) I will be working 7 hour shift. I should be so happy that she is with me, I just feel sooo guilty that I can not give her attention. But I would have soo much anxiety if she were in daycare with strangers, plus we do not have $$ for it right now. Should I just convince myself this is the best? Is it? What would you do? I feel like I have to prove to my boss's that I will make this work, but than I have to put her 2nd when I have to type on computer or file, answer phones, etc. please help!

Re: Infants and Day Care..update.
I give you a lot of credit for balancing the two. Soon, your DD will be awake more of the day and want more attention. At 4 months, DD gets upset when I am not looking at her & talking to her. She needs the interaction. I can't really get anything done during the day- only a few minutes here or there when she is in her exersaucer or on the playmat. I wouldn't be able to work with her there.
My friends who have worked from home full time have hired part-time nannies or mother's helpers to watch their children for a few hours a day while they worked.
My DD will be going to a daycare center in about 7 weeks when I return to work. I'm anxious, but I know they will take good care of her & stimulate her with great activities.

Re: Infants and Day Care..update.
I thought about going back to work and my old job said it was not a problem to bring him but he was 5.5 months at the time and it would have never worked out. He need to much attention from me and he gets board of activies very fast. At the same time it bothered me that their he was and I wasn't about to pay attention to him and I knew I wouldnt have been able to get any work done. In the same office building I knew someone that also brought her son into work starting at 2 months and her boss gave her, her own office and it has worked out and he still goes in and will be 1 next month so I think it depends on the personality of your child. If you can do it know while she is still young and doesnt really understand it might be to your benefit because she might learn to be in that enviroment and if it doesnt work out then maybe daycare is the way to go.
