Initials: is this bad?
Ok, I must ask this and please be honest: is it bad to give a child a name that spells LIB as initials?
We are just trying to finalize a name and all of a sudden all these new choices are coming up...
So, how bad is LIB?

I think about this all the time.
I dont think yours is bad at all!
I would love to name a boy (if we were to have one) Brendan Joseph. But that would be BJ..and I am not sure I would like that..LOL

THose initials are fine... Unless you are purposly trying toname your child so it has initials that spell something. I won't mention any names (*cough, cough DH*), but I know someone who wanted their son to have a certain name so his initials would be GMC (as in the cars he sells).

Yeah my poor DD has GMC as her initials..

No, I don't think it's bad at all .. I woldn't even notice it if you didn't point it out 
But then again, you cannot go by me. My DS's initials are "NAP" and if he wasn't named Nikolas, the other choices would have rendered him one of the following:
SAP
ZAP
LAP
MAP
CAP
TAP
Sooooooo he was destined for silly initials
(and wouldn't ya know.. with initials like NAP and he hardly EVER naps  )

In this case no since it doesn't mean anything, but my FIL's initials are HEB and in college he was teased a lot about it since he was jewish and in the minority at his school, it's a military institution. He was adamant that we not use initials that spell anything at all.

seriously, I think about this but it doesn't affect anything...
if I have a boy, his initials would be GAP
and if we have a girl it has the potential to be PP...PP scares me...but I love the name.

We actually ran through the initials when naming both our DC, so you're not alone in worrying about it! I don't see a problem with LIB.
Possible bad combinations:
Jane Olivia (JOB)
Olivia Rose (ORB)
Paula Ursula (PUB)
Rose Ursula (RUB)
Tanya Ursula (TUB)

My husband thinks about initials too. I know of somone whose initials are GAY... I guess his parents didn't think about initials....

My DH name is Sean, our daughters name is Sara Elizabeth Ann Norton or SEAN for short!
We thought that was very unique to spell her daddy's name.
So I don't think LIB is bad.
