All of the people who died in your example that were vaccinated from New Jersey we’re over the age of 50. Most of them had preexisting conditions including heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Of the people who passed most were over age 80. All of them had presenting conditions, only six of the pre existing conditions were listed as other. If you are going to post facts, post all of the facts.
So that is ok? Now it is ok for people with underlying issues to die but before it was not taken into effect.

Right now i think this vaccine is like playing Russian Roulette. My town just opened up a vaccine drive for 12 and older. That was a hard pass. My DH finds it suspicious that this "delta" variant came out and the best time to start scaring people for Fall and Winter so they can rush and get vaccines since the number of vaccinated people is not as large as anticipated. My DH is a conspiracy theorist but it does make you go hmm.
I am scheduled to get my first shot later today and I am starting to have 2nd thoughts.

Re: Interesting facts and numbers
I think what is concerning is this Delta variant. We are seeing that numbers of infections and hospitalizations are going up.
I'm concerned about that and what it will mean for us in the near future. It has been very nice for life to have returned to normal and will be a hard adjustment if we revert to lockdowns again.

And how many UNvaccinated people died? You need that number for any of this to be relevant
From June 28-July 12- it was 34
So, nearly double the number of unvaccinated people died vs those who are vaccinated, right? Or, more precisely 65% of those who died were unvaccianted and 35% were.
35% of people who took a vaccine that promised to keep them out of the hospital or dying…..died. I didn’t even look up the amount of vaccinated that are hospitalized. Those who are unvaccinated know the risk. But those who are taking it and are not as protected as they think should be outraged. I’m outraged for my parents! They worry if they are protected. They still don’t know going into cold and flu season if they are protected. Why doesn’t any force these manufacturers for answers?!?!
They are BIG Pharma for a reason. Where there’s no liability, there’s no need for accountability.

I’d bet that majority of posters on here have a parent or grandparent in that bracket who are vaccinated. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO BE PROTECTED FROM THE VACCINE.
I’ve told my parents and in-laws who are in the at-risk category that they really need to be careful after hearing this news. They are out and about everywhere maskless and with their friends all the time. I didn’t bat an eye bc they were vaccinated but this is a game changer.
But I guess since they are old we shouldn’t care.

I wonder if it would be pushed if they were held liable for long term effects. I mean J&J can’t even make sunscreen.

Why would anyone be outraged?? The vaccine was NEVER touted as 100% effectiveness and even being vaccinated people understand there is still some risk of getting sick or dying albeit small. Obviously having severe underlying health issues will increase the odds of dying despite being vaccinated.
If we’re gonna talk about deaths, that’s the risk vaccinated people is willing to take. The same goes for the unvaccinated where there’s is a 99.8% survival with covid, that .2% is the risk unvaccinated people is willing to take.

It’s different with vaccines. U can sue them for any of their products except vaccines. It’s been a long, exhausting battle trying to give liability back to pharmaceutical companies in this country with no success, I’m talking about decades! I doubt the power and relevance that covid has given them with their vaccines will make liability efforts any easier but anything is possible and awareness is key so I’m still hopeful.

Just praying the end game isn't mandatory vaccination for children to attend school.

Interesting facts and numbers
I posted the other day that denominators matter on the politics page.
NJ has high vaccine uptake so it will skew numbers.

Interesting facts and numbers
Covid cases are out of control in areas where vaccine uptake is low. The more people who are vaccinated, the less likely a community is to get infected.
My DH is currently at a work site in middle America and of course a guy he’s been working with just f*cking tested positive. My DH is vaccinated but I’m still pissed. When he gets home, I’m making my husband stay separate from us until Friday. My sister is getting married next weekend and I can’t afford for us getting f*cking Covid because some moron doesn’t believe in vaccines. Your choices DO affect other people’s lives regardless of what you would like to believe.

But people who are vaccinated are getting sick and, once again, I ask, who is to say these vaccinated are not getting it from other vaccinated people? Where are those stats?

Vaccinated people are getting sick but the two techs he was working with weren’t vaccinated. I honestly don’t give a sh*t who these techs got it from but they’re from WY where vaccine is uptake is almost nonexistent so I’m betting they got it from an unvaccinated person. I don’t think you understand what vaccine rates are like in other parts of the country.

I am well aware the vaccination rates are much lower in other states. I work with people all over the county and have friends and family in many lower vaccinated places.

Why do you have such a beef with me? Do you know me IRL? I have never berated or demand an answer from anyone but have noticed when they wear them, just like others who feel bad and put theirs on when they see someone with a mask on. This is beyond ridiculous and just shows how I get attacked for everything just because you don’t like me. Even though I don’t even think you know who I am.

I believe he will be fine. My fear is that he will be asymptomatic and pass it to my DS and then we’ll miss the wedding. I seriously can’t deal with this. I didn’t want my DH to go but this was the only week that work due to everyone’s schedule.

What scares the hell out of me is that suddenly Fox News and many Republicans are coming out and begging people to get vaccinated.
Hannity.. even Mitch McConnell.
That leads me to think there is a huge issue here we aren’t privy to.

As crappy as this is, this is with everything in life though. Your son could get another virus or other issues and you would still have to cancel. I think we all need to learn we can’t control life 100%.

She can't. Really. She HAS to comment on EVERYTHING. And she says the most stupid things that do not help, constantly. There is something seriously wrong with her. She thinks what she has to say is sooooooo f'king important when it is exactly the opposite.

I sat back for months and saw all the crap you continued to post and rarely ever commented. But when you continuously post false and very misleading information, are nasty and condescending to others and continue to ask the same questions over and over again - even though they've been answered time and time again - I've had enough and will not keep quiet anymore. Post away, but when you post something incorrect, irrelevant or rude, I will respond.
