Interior design?

Well..I have a lot more free time this summer and know that my house needs some work (aesthetic), but I never know where to start...looking at pics does inspire me, but I feel like I never know how/where to put things together..does anyone know of any interior design people/services and how much they cost? TIA!

what about a home stager? many offer staging to sell as well as staging to live services. the hourly rate ($50+) is probably the same as a designer but the items (accessories, furniture) are more cost effective than those offered by an interior designer.

i am actually meeting with a home stager later this week. consultation starts curbside and then continues throughout every room of the house. the meeting is 2+ hrs. after the visit, a detailed room by room design plan created and discussed. client can opt to adopt these suggestions without the aid of the stager or use the stager for a portion or all the suggested design ideas.

Please let me know how this goes..I'd be willing to pay $200 for some ideas...the outside, I know, is fine, it's rooms on the inside, kwim?? TIA!

totally. IMHO, $200 -300 is very reasonable to have a detailed and trained eye critic every inch of your home. i plan to sell in about a year or two but want to start the staging early so that i can at least enjoy all the improvement while still living here.

i am located in northport and think that the stager (lives in the hamptons) that i have a consultation with only works in suffolk.

where do you live?
