Internet use in Italy
Hello All
I am going to Italy in a few weeks and need to bring my laptop. Does anyone know how the internet works over there.
I do have one of those wireless cards from sprint.
any advice would be great.

My sister is there now and is videoconferencing to her kids every day. I'll ask her when she gets back.

As long as you have the wireless card, you should be fine. you should have access whereever you can find wireless, (in a cafe, etc.)
If you have difficulty finding a place, there are tons of those internet places where you buy a card with allotted time for the internet on it. DH and I did this and it was fine for just catching up on e-mail, etc. as we were gone for a month.
You WILL need a European adaptor plug though so don't forget that!

Your sprint card won't work. You would have to use WiFi and find a wifi access point.

i would say so...
is this someone's private home or is it run like a hotel?
if it's hotel, i would imagine you should have no problems. as long as you have the card, you should be good. if you need to use theirs, you will probably be charged a flat rate for the day.
Also, is it in a very rural area? if so, they may not have internet. where my house is, internet cables are not common- - this is rare, but coudl be a possibility.
