Interview questions? Can you help a sister out?

Hi ladies!

I'm interviewing for a teaching job (my first interview for a teaching job, ever!) and I'm in need of some help!

Can you ladies give me some questions that you were asked on your interviews?

I'm a career changer and don't have a lot of classroom experience, so I can use all of the help I can get!!

Thanks so much!!

Its been 10 yrs since i interviewed for my teaching job but things you should know:
-your philosophy on education
-your style of teaching reading
-how you would handle behavior issues
-how you would handle difficult parents
-how you would handle teaching inclusion and having another teacher in the room

yes, these are the common ones...

Also, what is your certification? interview questions are geared towards that-- then we can probably help with more specific examples

Re: Interview questions? Can you help a sister out?

a lot of questions nowadays focus on the assessments

~ how will you ensure that all your student's succeed?

~ in a diverse classroom how to you differentiate to ensure that you reach all of them?

~ how to you motivate the unmotivated learner?

How do you deal with parents?
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
what was your best lesson ever?
what was your worst less ever? how would you change it?
How do you deal with a difficult student?
What was the biggest problem you had in the classroom and how did you deal with it?

Re: Interview questions? Can you help a sister out?

The last interview that I went on (last week), I was asked:

What role do parents play in a child's education?

How do you deal with diverse populations?

How can you incorporate ethnic diversities in the classroom/lessons?

I was given a classroom situation and asked to critique it.

I was asked to walk them through the first five minutes of a lesson.

Um, there was more but I can't remember right now. When I do, I will write more.

good luck!

When I interviewed they were big on how you would incorporate technology into your lessons.

They might ask about NYS tests and preparation for them.

Good luck Chat Icon

As a spinoff to the interview questions, would anyone mind sharing what types of responses they are looking for, or what is the best thing to focus on when responding to a question..

(No question in particular, just any of the ones mentioned, if you can give some pointers to us newbies. Chat Icon )

didnt mean to hijack the post, I was hoping this would add to it.
