Interview went really well
I need some good answers for the ridiculous interview questions that are always asked.
Strengths?
Weaknesses?
Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
Do you work well under pressure?
What are the other questions I should expect to hear?
I havent been on an interview in a while.

Prepare for behavioral interview questions; ones that start "tell me about a time when you..."
- balanced multiple priorities
- didn't know what to do
Think of situations the job would encounter and remember stories of similar situations you were in. The key is to tell a true story in which you describe what YOU -- not a team, not your boss, etc. -- did.
Questions to ask:
- How do you see me fitting in to the group?
- What are your/the group's goals for this year?
- How would my role contribute to the group's goals?
- What factors/characteristics do you feel are necessary to succeed in this role?

This is my first corporate interview since I got laid off in February.
I hope it is easier then I think it is going to be.
I was already phone interviewed by a Recruiter on thursday.

where do you see yourself 5-10 years from now?
ANSWER: I hope to grow into a more senior-level position at the same company I'll leave my job now for.
Weaknesses/faults?
ANSWER: I'm very hard on myself, push myself hard, etc. (something that is a neg that can be seen also as a positive)
Stengths?
Answer: Team player attitude - no responsibility is too junior for me. I think this question is hard for us to help you with since it varies based on your industry, IMO.
Other questions:
Why are you looking to leave your job?
What are you looking for in your next position?
I'm sure there are tons more....
Don't forget to ask your interviewer questions, too! A really good one that someone on here taught me was 'how do you see me fitting in here?'

Scott - good luck...just a tip - think of it as a conversation - don't sound too "rehearsed"....just be confident!

Scott. You've received great advice. I agree, eye contact is so important. I also always tell DH to remember the following: C.F.A.
Confident
Friendly
Assertive
Best of Luck, Scott. Also, do a practice interview before hand w/your wife.

I just read a great article in the NY daily news about this yesterday I think...
the one thing I saw that recruiters/hr peeps said was about the whole "weakness" think not being "I am a perfectionist" "I am too hard on myself" as they see right through that.
One suggestion was to make it more tangible like "need to more adept at photoshop/word"

I agree with this. Weakness can be technical and can turn into strengths after you learn.
Most of them are BS questions frankly. They are just using them to see how you handle hard questions, grace under pressure.
Also, don't get too chatty. Keep it friendly but don't go into too much about your personal life. I found this to be a deal killer.
