Introducing BM in a bottle
DD is almost 3wks old now and I plan on introducing a bottle of breastmilk soon. Since I've only been EBF til now I have no idea how much she drinks. How many ounces should I start with?

Re: Introducing BM in a bottle
I would start with as much as you can pump... I barely got anything when I pumped, hope you do better...

Re: Introducing BM in a bottle
I pumped fulltime for six months! :) Try 3 or 4 oz if you can pump it out.
(Always err on the side of caution... you can always pump a little more if she needs it, but you don't wanna be throwing out that liquid gold if she doesn't finish the bottle!)

Re: Introducing BM in a bottle
I started at about 3-4 weeks. I think that I started with 2 oz, but let him have more if he finished it quick. to see how much he would take. then it leveled off at 3-4 oz.
you don't want to waste any of it!!!

Re: Introducing BM in a bottle
that's what we did.. started with 2 oz. which quickly went up to 3. Don't worry... she will let you know if it's too much or too little.

Re: Introducing BM in a bottle
We started with 2 oz. and quickly went up to three. At 6 weeks, I put 4 oz. in the bottle, but she usually doesn't finish all of it.
