Introducing our new early arrival
Ashley Dean, Born July 15th, 6.8 lbs., 18.5 inches
I have to write my whole birth story but here's the quick version.....(sorry still kind of long)
I started having contractions around 3pm but wasn't sure if it was the real thing since I wasn't due until 8/10.
When they got closer together, I called my dr. and he said to the hospital so he can see what was going on. When he saw me he said I was having a baby that day!
I couldn't believe it.
After a few hours of contractions & about a half hour of serious pushing, I gave birth at 10:04pm.
Obviously it was incredibly painful but it was just so amazing to know I was having a baby that something just gave me the strength to get through it - with out any drugs also (which I wanted to do but thought would be impossible from stories I've heard.)
So i really is possible to have a quick, natural labor & healthy baby!

Did you do anything to prepare for a natural birth? Any tips?
I stayed pretty active my whole pregnancy which was good until I over did it & the dr. was worried that I was in the beginning stages of pre-eclampsia so I guess you have to find a balance of staying active & not running around like a crazy expectant mother in the hot summer.
Also, when they were explaining the options (natural vs an epidural or other pain medications) I told them I would like to deliver natural but I had them prep me so I would be able to get an epidural if I wanted to at any time. (They had to put extra fluid in the IV or something like that) but I wanted that done so i would have the option, it gave me more piece of mind knowing it was my decision if I wanted any drugs or not.
The whole time I was in that delivery room I was just praying that I would be able to deal with the pain & go through it quickly.
I know praying could sound kind of crazy but if there's any time you have the urge to be religious, it's when you're in that kind of pain
Hope it goes well for you (& all of you other ladies)
It really is possible to have a good labor, it is pretty painful but it is an amazing experience. Don't let any horror stories out there get to you, everyone's different & you have to believe that you will be lucky enough to have a quick easy labor (or as easy as it could be)
