introducing solids
Just wondering what everyone did. Going to my ped Monday and just wanted to hear from the experts first! I've heard from some that they didn't do cereal as there DC's first food.

Re: introducing solids
some friends said that cereal doesn't taste so great and they wanted their DC's first taste of real food to be yummy. I havent tasted the cereal so I don't know. I heard if you do fruit first it makes it harder to get them to eat veggies because they're not that sweet. do you think that's true?

I don't think any of that is true. LOL!
I mean, the cereal is mixed with bm or formula and that is what DC has been eating up until this point, correct?
DS had fruit first then veggies and he likes most veggies better. I think it is an old wives tale to say that if you give fruit first they won't like veggies.

My pediatrician offices says to do cereal, green veggies, orange veggies, and then fruits for that reason. They feel it is better to do the less sweet foods first.

Re: introducing solids
my ped said cereal, fruits, orange veg, then green veg. DS loves all the cereals so far and we just started applesauce today and he loved it. Good luck.

DITTO. I also like the idea if introducing foods with less sugar first. It goes along with the theory that introducing solids later will decrease the odds for diabetes.
