Invitation Question?
We just got an invitation in the mail for a christening. It was addresses to "Mr & Mrs X" I told my husband that means we have to get a sitter (because it doesn't say The X Family) He thinks I'm wrong. And I (of course) think I'm right.
Also would you ask if it is meant for just us? The thing is John hasn't seen this guy in like 5 years. I think it would be best to RSVP & say the wife & I will be there. John wants to ask if kids are allowed as well. It's at a restaraunt so we are talking extra money .
I am right aren't I?

Re: Invitation Question?
If the kids were invited their names would be on the invitation. I would never ask if they could be invited.

Re: Invitation Question?
Technically you are right, given the addressing. However at all the Christening parties Ive been to kids have always been invited, it would seem odd to have an adult only christening party since the party is for a baby.... so maybe it is an oversight? I would probably find a tactful way of asking them if the kids were invited.

Re: Invitation Question?
Yes, that means that it's just you and your husband that are invited.

Re: Invitation Question?
When I sent out Logan's invites recently I put X Family...meaning the whole family. For my parents friends who had older kids not invited I put Mr. & Mrs. X so I would say you are right. Being that it's a Christening and usually kids are invited, I don't think it's bad to ask if the family is invited. Dhs friend asked him b/c he wasn't sure (even though it said family on the invite).
