We gave one to two of our nieces (one each) and they LOVE them! They are 10 & 8...
My SIL has used it while on the bike and likes it as well...likes the size (these are the original "body") and the option to shuffle or play straight through.

DH just bought it and he loves it. The new one is so tiny and it clips right on to your clothes so it is great for the gym.

Yeah I am talking about the new 1Gb ipod Shuffle. I was thinking about getting it for my sister in law for christmas. We usually do the secret Santa and have a $50 limit but for $20 more I can get her the ipod. I know she wants one, she told me yesterday. It would be better than getting her something that im not sure that she wants......

I have the smaller shuffle and it is perfect for working out. I have an armband and I wear it while running. I also have a 20 GB Dell DJ which I like better for beach/travel.listening to music in general, but the shuffle is great for working out.

I saw the ads for the new one ($79, I think) and I am dying for it! I have resisted due to cost, but I think this is big enough for the price - I think it holds 240+ songs.

Apple store has it for $79 with free shipping and target sells it for $77 instore. I am going to get it tomorrow

I went into the store to buy it last year but DH talked me into getting the Nano b/c it has the digital screen. I have to admit, I am glad I got that one. I only use it for the gym but I like that I can choose the song I want to hear by seeing it displayed. just seems easier.
but for the price, the Shuffle is a great gift!
