there is a salary cap on Roth IRA's. check with a financial advisor on which one would be best for you

We have both. There is a salary cap. Somewhere around 100K (AGI). A roth is better if you think you will be in a higher tax bracket when you retire than you are in now because when you put the money in now, it is after taxes (so your current tax rate) and you will be able to take the money out tax free when you retire.
