Is 10 weeks too early to tell your boss you are pregnant?
It's a slow day today. I'm considering telling my boss today that I'm pregnant.
But then it's a little early, right?
I just feel like crap everyday and don't want him to think I've been unmotivated or slacking lately.

my boss knew at 5 weeks, i told the rest of my office around 10-11 weeks.
as long as everything is looking good, i never saw a reason to keep it a secret, but everyone is different

It's a personal decision, and if you're comfortable with it, tell him! GL!

Re: Is 10 weeks too early to tell your boss you are pregnant?
My boss found out when I was 10 weeks only because I have been getting sick at work and I did not want him to come out looking for me and I was not there. I have not told my supervisor yet. I will be telling her next week.

Do it whenever you feel comfortable. There is no set timetable

Everyone in my office knew at about 6 weeks because I have to notify my job due to the nature of what I do. My coworkers knew before my family!

Re: Is 10 weeks too early to tell your boss you are pregnant?
My supervisor and the support (crisis) staff knew about 5-6 weeks. I had to tell them to make sure I was protected in any dangerous situations. I told the rest of my school at 10 weeks.

As someone who went through a miscarriage in the first trimester, I think it is too early to tell your boss.

Re: Is 10 weeks too early to tell your boss you are pregnant?
I told my boss around 16 weeks. Im sure he can wait the couple of weeks to then understand why you seemed sluggish before. But if it makes you feel more comfortable then go for it.

Re: Is 10 weeks too early to tell your boss you are pregnant?
My whole office found out at 5 1/2 weeks. I had gone to the doc and they wanted me to come back the following week for a sono. I told my supervisor and she kept asking if something was wrong. I never go to the doc and she wanted to know why I had to go back. I told her I was pg and she started crying....right in the middle of the office. So then I had to tell because everyone was thinking the worst. Everyone knew in a matter of minutes

Re: Is 10 weeks too early to tell your boss you are pregnant?
I told my boss the same day I found out! I think it really depends on the type of relationship you have with your boss. I had told my assistant principal about the infertility stuff we were going through, so I was really excited to tell her the news!

Re: Is 10 weeks too early to tell your boss you are pregnant?
There reallly is no right or wrong answer to this. Do what you feel comfortable doing.
I had a miscarriage after my first IVF, but my boss knew my situation and knew when we were going through the 2nd IVF cycle. However, we were very cautious after the first time, so I waited until I had my ultrascreen and knew everything was okay. I ended up telling my boos at 13 weeks.
I'm just about 17 weeks now and I just finished telling the rest of my co-workers. Actually, there are still some people that don't know.

Re: Is 10 weeks too early to tell your boss you are pregnant?
it's a very personal decision. I told my manager at 8 weeks, because i was just not myself (absent minded, cranky due to the nausea, and the extreme fatigue!). I told the rest of my colleagues when I was 13 weeks.
