Is 21 months too young to be a flower girl ?

My friend is getting married this November and has chosen Julia to be her flower girl. DD will be 21 months at that time - do you think she can handle being the flower girl at so young?

walking down the aisle? taking pics?

For moms of almost 2 yrs old -what do you think?

Julia is walking - but i need opinions. My friend was thinking of putting her in a cart down the aisle - but something tells me DD isn't going to sit still and have them wisk her down the aisle. I know she will look so cute - but i can't help but wonder - what do you think?

Antonina, I think Julia will look so cute. Marisa is going to be a flower girl for my sister's friend in May and she will be 27 months old.

I think it's fine as long as she is prepped beforehand & napped around the wedding.

If your DD could handle walking down alone and wouldn't get to scared then go for it! I would just practice with her a few days before the wedding so she gets use to it.

I know my DD would get to scared to walk down alone, and just seeing all the people in the church would probably make her not do it.

I would just practice A LOT!

totally depends on the child. my dd would definitly have been able to handle it, but my ds would NEVER have been able to be a ring bearer at that age. its hard to say. but if you think she can do it, go for it.

Thanks Ladies. I guess i will let you know how it goes and Ill definitely takes pics.

We will definitely prep alot beforehand. Her personality is starting to really shine now - she doesn't seem like the quiet, shy type - who knows??!

Kids are unpredictable at that age - I guess. My sister is a bridesmaid so that may help her feed up the nerve to walk down the aisle on her own....we shall see. Thanks

Oh as a hint. We had me go down first. Joseph waited with my dad in the foyer. When he stepped into the aisle, I waved him toward me.

My cousin's son was our ringbearer and he was 23 months. We were unsure whether or not he would not walk down on his own, so we had a decorated wagon on hand just in case. My cousin (MOH) ended up pushing him down the isle. It was the cutest thing.

I think it depends on the child. I say try and let her do it - and if she walks down great (or rides down) but make it known to your friend that there is a chance she may freeze up and not go - so that she won't be disappointed.

My BIL just got married and had our niece and nephew in the wedding. She was 1 1/2 at the time - and he was 2. They didn't walk down the aisle. She walked half way down - and then back. Whatever they do is cute.

I was in a wedding with a young flowergirl. I was the MOH. I ended up holding her hand and we walked down the aisle together because even though we prepped her she got shy the day of. Honestly I thought it was really cute and so did everyone else there. I wouldn't worry so much about it being "perfect" -- I am sure it will work out!

My daughter will be 23 months next week and there is no way she would walk down the aisle by herself. If someone held her hand it could work, but is just as likely she'd start rolling down the aisle and get really, really mad if I tried to pick her up. Maybe if I was at the front of the aisle and called her down, with my husband on the other end... But I don't know how the bride would feel about that!

Pictures would be fine.
